Applied for Unreal Engine Developer, had an interview, and then just never heard back from them. The interviewer was nice but didn't ask much about UE4. It would have been good if they had at least told me I didn't get the job instead of saying they'd 'follow up with me shortly'.

I had a Skype interview with the Producer and a Previs Supervisor. They were both very nice and professional, and on time. Since I'm in another country, we did it via Skype. They mentioned that their projects can be short, only 3-4 weeks. They also said that being Mexican makes hiring a bit tricky because of the visa process. They promised to reach out if they have something for me to see what we can do.

I applied in late May and heard back from the recruiter three weeks later. We had a 45-minute phone chat where they focused more on hard surface & organic modeling and the engine, rather than VFX. Since they're a small team, they have a broad definition of 'generalist'. There's no art test for this role. I followed up a week after the interview but didn't get a response.

First thing, they check out your portfolio and resume for art quality and experience. Then, they want to see if you know Unreal Engine, but it's not a must-have. I had a bit of a learning curve, but they're cool about helping you get up to speed once you're hired. The interview itself is pretty straightforward.
