Business Analyst
I was first reached out to by a recruiter on LinkedIn. We had a quick chat, and then they set up a call with a senior business analyst. That interview was pretty chill; mostly went over my resume and asked about how I've handled tough clients before. The next step was an on-site interview at their Arlington office. It involved a scrum master, a project manager, and that same senior BA. It was surprisingly fast, and they asked about my knowledge of Agile stuff, how I dealt with challenges on past projects, and so on. Basically, if you've worked on software projects as a BA or on the client side, be ready to discuss the SDLC (Agile or Waterfall) and how you managed requirements, user stories, and the whole development flow. The recruiter got back to me a few days after that with a job offer.
- Could you share an instance where you encountered a challenging client?
- Describe a situation where you had to manage a difficult client.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult client.
Business Analyst
I applied online in December 2017, and the whole interview process took two weeks. It started with a phone interview, followed by an in-person one. The recruiter gave me positive feedback, and I was told to wait. They made their decision in mid-January, about three weeks later, and informed me they were proceeding with another candidate.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Describe a time you faced challenges when dealing with customers.
Business Analyst
I had a phone screening and then an in-person interview that lasted about an hour. It was a pretty straightforward interview and I enjoyed talking with them. They offered me the job right after the in-person. The offer letter took a few extra days because of salary negotiations, which I thought was a bit confusing. But overall, I was happy with how things went and my recruiter was great at keeping me updated.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Tell me about a challenging client interaction and the resolution.
- What does your typical day look like in terms of responsibilities?
