Business Development Officer
After HR screens applications, employers reach out to schedule a panel interview. Each panel member asks questions based on the qualities they seek for the role. If you're selected, HR will send an email; otherwise, no notification is sent.
- What are your career aspirations?
Intern
Professor recommended me for an engineering internship. I had an in-person interview, which was a great opportunity to arrange books on shelves lol. The interviewer was very warm and talked to me about extracurricular experiences. He was fascinated by me and gave me the job on the spot!
- What's your favorite class? And what did you get out of your college experiences besides classes?
- Have you studied this subject and how did you like it?
- What do you plan to do afterwards?
Structural Engineer
Had a one-on-one interview very early in the morning with a very senior manager. It was very conversational, we really hit it off, and he offered me the job on the spot! I've found that if you get an interview, it's basically a personality test from then on. Getting selected means you meet the job requirements; it's up to you to stand out. Don't be afraid to be yourself, but try to connect with the interviewer, like you would in life!
- What led to your decision to study abroad?
- Can you share a bit about yourself?
Graduate Engineer
I did a case study and then gave a presentation to the managers. I teamed up with someone from Northern Ireland, and honestly, I couldn't understand his accent. We got a tour of the office, followed by lunch. I didn't end up getting an offer.
- How would you help raise the profile of an engineer?
