Claims Specialist
I applied online. The first interview was with HR and it went really well, I was super excited about the possibility of working there. The second interview was over Zoom with the departmental manager and a supervisor. It didn't go as well as I'd hoped - partly my fault for not being totally ready for some of their questions, but it was also kind of uncomfortable because one person wouldn't turn on their camera. It's super hard to tell how you're doing with someone when it's audio-only. Overall, I have a negative view of the whole thing because after the second interview, they just disappeared. I've called twice to check in (it's been over two months) and haven't heard anything back.

Accountant
I applied for the job and then an HR person from the company hit me up a couple weeks later for a phone interview. After the phone interview with the HR rep, I had a virtual interview with the hiring manager. It was a really detailed interview with specific questions about accounting for insurance companies. They said I'd hear back in a week but it took weeks. I messaged the company for feedback and they said they wanted someone with reinsurance experience and re-posted the job. They really wasted a lot of candidates' time interviewing them and then changing the requirements for the type of accountant they needed.

- Could you define insurance terms such as reinsurance, ceded, and IBNR?
Engineer
The interview process was terrible. I interviewed for two different roles. For the first role, two out of the three managers scheduled to interview me didn't show up. For the second role, about a month later, the hiring manager told me the recruiter would follow up within a week. The recruiter was very slow to respond, and it took about three months after the Skype interview for her to let me know they had chosen a different candidate. I was a former client, and I noticed the same disorganization and lack of follow-up with customers.

Manager
This was an internal promotion interview from Assistant Manager to Manager. I interviewed with a Senior Manager, and a representative from HR, and was among 3 candidates selected for the interview process. We were asked to apply and submit a brief project that was relevant to the role. HR and Senior management were in constant communication, and although I was not offered the position (the person who did get the position is an excellent choice) I was given lots of useful feedback for ways to improve my chances, and just for my own professional and personal development.
- How would you handle a difficult conversation with an unhappy team member?
