The whole hiring process took about a month. It started with a webcam interview, followed by a webcam teaching demo. The final stage was a campus visit. I enjoyed the process up until the on-campus interview. After that interview, I was told I'd hear back in a few days. Since it was between semesters, there wasn't much time for anyone to give notice. I ended up waiting a whole month, just two days before the next semester started, to get a rejection letter in the mail. I thought it was unprofessional to set expectations and then send a generic rejection via snail mail to a final candidate.

There's a process involving questions, teaching demos, and more. Hiring is pretty subjective, really up to the president's mood. Your past work matters, especially if it's connected to industry partners or competitors. Having experience with federal grants is a plus. They'll do reference checks and send out some initial questions via email. You might have to look over the college's strategic initiatives too.

The whole process differs based on the position type. For non-exempt roles, it's HR screening followed by an interview. For exempt roles, applicants submit their resume and fill out an application, then the search team picks the top candidates for interviews. After selection or rejection, it's sent to the president for approval. Faculty roles are similar to exempt ones, but the search committee is made up only of faculty.

Getting the interview was the hardest part. I left a few voice messages then got a call back for an interview. Very simple interview. Pretty much just explained the job duties then asked a few basic interview questions. The coordinator was the only one I interviewed with.
