Sales Development Representative
The interview process began with two phone interviews: one with HR and another with the new SDR lead. This was followed by a 2-hour session with 6 people from sales, recruiting, and HR. Most of these interviewers (5 out of 6) had been with the company for less than 3 months and seemed inexperienced with interviewing. The Sales Manager, who had been there about a year, was the most experienced. One of the early interviewers suggested the HR Manager was the main decision-maker. However, the HR Manager came across as unprofessional, negative, and aggressive. He interrupted the candidate, took a long break, spoke poorly of the company's management, and refused to answer questions about talent management. He also dismissed the candidate's experience as a recruiter being relevant to sales. The candidate felt this interaction likely led to not getting the job, questioning if it was a strategy or genuine unprofessionalism. Despite this, the other interviewers were good, and the product seemed promising, leading to disappointment about not getting the offer.
- How would you market and sell our product to recruitment agencies?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process was really simple. I applied online and then got a call for a phone interview with the SDR manager. It went pretty well, but sadly they decided to go with other people. My only issue was not getting any feedback. The rejection email said 'if you have any questions, I am here to help,' which was a bit annoying since they didn't respond when I asked for feedback. I'd suggest not including that line if you're not actually going to reply or give any feedback.
- What makes you want to work in sales?
Sales Development Representative
I first applied on Angles List. A few days later, the Sales Manager got in touch. She asked about my willingness to relocate, as they were hiring locally, and I confirmed I was very open to it. After that, I interviewed with a number of employees. One of those interviews involved a group of SDRs and some Customer Success team members. It was very informal and they answered all my questions.
- Were you open to relocating?
