Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hachette Book Group.
Marketing
I'd say they were pretty good, even though I didn't get the job because they were very responsive and honest and gave me updates when I asked for them. The questions were very generic.
- Can you tell me the reason you are looking to leave your current role?
Marketing Executive
I applied online for the Marketing Executive role at Orion and got invited for an interview. The first interview was focused on reviewing my skills and experience. It was a good conversation and I felt I connected well with the interviewer. A few days after, they sent an email stating I didn't proceed to the next round and provided some constructive feedback.
- Could you describe your current job responsibilities and typical daily tasks?
Marketing Assistant
I was scheduled to interview with two people, one from HR and one from the department. The HR person cancelled the morning of, but said the interview would still happen. The person I spoke with was nice but seemed unprepared. I also learned the original job I applied for was changing, and they weren't sure what that meant for their team. Even though the interview went okay, HR never got back to me, despite me following up twice.
- What are some books you enjoy reading?
- What sparked your interest in publishing?
