The hiring manager gave me a call to screen me for the role. She started by giving a quick rundown of the job. What I really liked was that she began by talking about the potential downsides of the position, to make sure we both felt our time was being used effectively.

The interview process was long and communication was not great. It started with a text from the recruiter to set up a phone call. Then, there were three very drawn-out phone calls with different hiring managers. The recruiter told me I could talk to them whenever I wanted, but when I tried to reach the recruiter, I often got voicemail or no response. The interviews seemed to go well, but six weeks after the first text, I got an email saying they had chosen other candidates. When I replied to say thanks anyway, I got an out-of-office reply saying the recruiter was on vacation. I'm not really sure what happened.
