First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Habit Burger & Grill.
Cashier
I put in an application online, and after that was done, I was sent some times to pick from for an interview. I picked a time for the next day. When I got there, I checked in. Someone went to tell the manager I was there, but then came back and said the manager said they weren't doing interviews right now but to keep in touch if anything opens up. What a joke. I don't even know what's worse, my time being wasted or the manager not even coming out to explain it themselves.
- What standard questions were on the application?
Cashier
I went in and saw they were hiring. I asked for an application and filled it out there. The manager looked it over and asked about my availability for an interview, and we scheduled one for later that week. I got there early for my interview and had to wait 20 minutes because they misplaced my application. Luckily, I had my resume and got to interview with who I think was the Assistant Manager first. He reviewed my resume and asked questions about my previous work experience. He then asked if I had time for an interview with the store manager, and I ended up having a second interview. Both interviews went well, and I felt confident I'd get hired. After the interview, the manager mentioned I needed to interview with the Director of something because all cashiers have to be interviewed by this person. He said he'd call the next day to schedule it, but I never got a call. Two weeks went by with no call. I realized how important excellent customer service and a certain bubbly personality are, and I figured they didn't hire me because I'm more serious, not very social, and treat everyone with respect. It was disappointing because I thought they were interested.
- Could you describe yourself?
- Can you tell me about a typical day at your previous job?
Cashier
The process involved two interviews before they extended a job offer. They were interested in hearing about any difficult customer interactions I'd handled and how I sorted them out. They also asked about my strengths and weaknesses, and my reasons for wanting to work there.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Can you tell me about a time you had a challenge with a customer and how you fixed it?
- What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?
