Talent Acquisition
The process began with an initial phone chat with the hiring manager. Then, the second round was an in-person interview with the Principals and the HR team. Since it was during the tail end of COVID, we met outside in the courtyard but still in person. It was a really nice and creative solution.
- Can you share your past experiences and explain how you envision yourself fitting into an Engineering firm?
- How do you see yourself at an Engineering firm?
Landscape Designer
I had a really good experience interviewing here. They gave me a lot of information about how the company is structured, its history, and details about paid time off, benefits, and stock options. I also got to meet a bunch of different people on the team and other employees.
- Do you understand the job parameters?
Environmental Engineer/Scientist
The interview involved two video calls. Each was a panel interview with 2-4 principals from the office I was applying to. It was a pretty long process, taking nearly a month between interviews. It was still a good experience though, and they answered all my questions.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you please walk me through your resume?
Content Writer
So I had a phone interview, then an in person, and then got ghosted. Company never got back to me for over two months even though I emailed them a bunch. After the phone interview, they gave me a writing test even though I have experience. I told the CMO I wasn't comfortable rewriting case studies for her, but she said it was no big deal and that she really wanted to keep me as a candidate and I had to do it to move on. So I did it. During the in person interview, the CMO called me a liar and unreliable because of my job history. She also let it slip that the content I wrote was going to help her busy schedule, so it was clear these weren't for a candidate. Despite all this, she asked me to come back for a final in person interview to meet the team and then I'd hear if I got the job. I offered multiple days and times, but was totally ghosted again. Didn't hear back for over two months, just got OOO replies. Finally, three months after the first interview, I was told someone else got the job. It's not the end of the world not to get a job, but being disrespected and humiliated like that is so unprofessional. I think I'm lucky not to be an employee at GZA.
