First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at gyrodata.
Field Engineer
I saw an ad online for a job at an unknown company and it turned out to be Gyrodata. They called me for an interview pretty quickly. All of us applying were put in a room together waiting for our turn for what turned out to be just a first interview. There were three people interviewing us.
- Given the job involves tough field work, can you tell me about your personal circumstances and your reasons for wanting to leave your last position?
- Would you be comfortable with the prospect of not being with your family, considering you recently got married, due to the nature of this role?
- How would you handle reassuring your wife if you needed to be absent for a long time?
Field Engineer
It began with an on campus interview. This was a pretty basic interview where they explained the position and asked about my interest in Gyrodata. After passing that, I was flown to Houston for a full day interview process at the corporate head quarters. This involved a group information session then breakout sessions with 1:1 talks with various upper management.
- What makes you want to work for Gyrodata?
Survey Specialist
The interview process was good. There was a technical test and then an interview with the Manager. The interview was pretty direct about the job details and specifics, asking if I could handle the job as it is, and discussing career growth within the company.
- Would you be open to working extended hours?
- Can you commit to travel and extended periods away from home?
Engineer Trainee
the interviewer wanted to understand what is happening down hole, check my understanding of the company and where they are heading, and talk about my general work ethic.
- What do you know about drilling procedures and do you understand trig?
- What are your thoughts on the company's direction?
- What is your general work ethic?
