First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GYMGUYZ.
Personal Trainer
I had a 1 hour phone interview, then I did a mock personal training session audition. After that, there were background checks for contact and emergency info, plus a urine drug test. I also had to send in pictures or faxes of my documented information, like my contact details.
- How do you handle training clients experiencing injuries or pain?
Personal Trainer
The interview was really relaxed and I felt at ease. First, we had an interview, and then I had to demonstrate my skills at one of their training spots. I also went through some scenarios where I had to pretend to sell training to clients, like a travel salesperson. They gave me everything I needed to sell training packages and made sure I was good to go.
- Can you tell me about your most significant fitness achievement?
Marketing Coordinator
The manager who was hiring reached out to me initially for a phone chat. Then, I got a call back to set up a time to meet in person for a 45-minute interview. After that, the manager contacted me again to arrange a meeting with the CEO, which happened a few days later.
- Can you walk me through your previous work experience?
Personal Trainer
First I talked to one of the owners on the phone. Then I went in for an in-person interview. After that, they had me lead the owner through a workout to see how I'd engage a client. They said this helps them figure out my strengths to better match me with clients.
- Tell me about a significant challenge you've faced and overcome, whether it was physical or mental.
