The interview process was based on your educational achievements. To teach English, all teachers needed at least a BA degree. Correct use of verb tenses in English grammar was essential. As ESL Instructors, we taught our adult students in Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Pronunciation. Daily group projects and individual worksheets were required for every student. The overall experience for this interview was very informative and covered the challenges and workshops that each instructor would face in their career at Gwinnett Technical College.

I had a 15-minute phone call with two HR people. They asked me five questions. I thought it went okay, but it's hard to get a feel for someone in such a short chat. They seemed rushed, and maybe they're just hiring internally. If they really wanted a good recruiter, they'd do face-to-face interviews and let candidates talk more.

The hiring and interview process was quite easy. The first two interviews are with one or two lead instructors. They will ask about your degree and teaching background. You don't have to be certified, but your salary will be a little more if you are.

I applied and after about 2-3 weeks, HR called to set up interviews. I interviewed with a small panel and the VP. I got an offer two weeks after the interview. After the offer, I had to do a background check and reference check.
