I had a panel interview with 3 people. It was only 30 minutes long. They took chances asking questions and then it was over. I focus on how I have experience with customer service and people of all ages.

Behavioral Presentation

It was a really weird interview. The interview itself was fine, but at the end, after I mentioned my college schedule, she told me that all new hires needed to do a training that ran from early morning to the afternoon. She was very clear that I *had* to be there and there was no other time to make it up. I thought that was odd because who has that kind of availability? Especially for a job paying $12 an hour. The typical candidates are high school and college students. Then, after saying they wouldn't proceed with a second interview, they called me back because 'actually, we do want you.' I assume this means no one was available for the training or the people they originally wanted weren't interested anymore. Anyway, it was a strange experience, and I'm kind of glad I didn't get the job.

I applied in late March or early April and heard back about three weeks later. They said I'd hear back by the end of the week after the interview. I got an offer about five hours after the interview over the phone, and then the written offer the next day. My start date was set two weeks after the phone offer. The whole process moved pretty fast, about four weeks start to finish. Two interviewers went back and forth asking several scenario questions and a few about my background. They answered a few of my questions at the end. They really emphasized customer service scenarios and how adaptable you can be.

You apply online. About two weeks later, someone called to set up an interview. I was interviewed by 3 people in a single setting with each taking turns writing my answers. The interviewers were nice, and the interview was informal. The interview questions were good choices, but they did not match the job. The questions were intended for a full time classified employee, not for a part time book shelver.
