I had two phone interviews with senior support team members. Then, I got an email with a test to complete. I could use the internet for the test, and it was mainly to see my thought process. After the test, I had an onsite interview. It started with a lunch for an hour with people from different departments. Then, I had one-on-one meetings with three people from the support team.

Behavioral Case Presentation

I applied through jobvite and got a call from someone new to the job. She asked if I'd move to Denver, which was unexpected. I said I'd think about it. Then, I had to do a written response for three case studies. They liked my answers and invited me for an in-person interview. At the interview, some of the people weren't there, so regular employees filled in. It felt disorganized. Some interviewers were on their computers and told me they had to send emails while talking to me. I asked questions when they seemed less busy. One guy told me they just Google things and that they hired me because I gave good answers, and they just wanted to see if they liked me. Only one person gave me a skill-based exercise and seemed genuinely interested. It felt like I was trying to join a club rather than interviewing for a job. Most didn't act professionally.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process included a 30-minute phone call, a SparkHire portion where I recorded 1-minute video answers to 5 questions, a written assignment with 3 questions, and finally an onsite interview that lasted about 3.5 hours. I thought it was a really comprehensive interview process and I felt like I got to show my skills well and also learned a good amount about the company and the people there. I felt good about deciding because I had so many different types of interactions with ZenPayroll by the time they made an offer.
