IEF Co-op; recruited from the university career fair. Fit check for the team, personality-based questions, and questions related to past projects and work. The interview lasted half an hour and was often with the past graduates of the university who went through the program and were hired for full time.

Had a straightforward phone interview with the hiring manager and three team members. After they introduced themselves, I was asked to talk about my academic background and highlight my resume. Because it was for an R&D role, the questions weren't typical behavioral ones. Most of them were specific to avionics systems integration and flight testing. They did mention they were looking for someone more on the electrical engineering side rather than aerospace. I found out within 2 days that they hired someone else.

After an initial phone interview, I was flown out to Savannah for an in-person interview. I stayed overnight in a hotel. A panel of two people interviewed me for about 30 minutes. Then, the hiring manager spent about an hour giving me a tour of the facility and seemed really interested in me. However, I had a feeling it wasn't a genuine opportunity, and I was right. The day after the interview, I saw that my application status online had changed to "no longer considered." It felt like they already had their candidate and I was just there to meet equal opportunity hiring requirements. It's really disappointing when a manager brings you in for what seems like a ceremony.
