It was a really quick and simple interview. They asked me if I could manage the amount of work and also asked me some basic questions about pro audio and recording systems. It was pretty easy overall if you know how to interview.

I interviewed with a supervisor, and when I asked about compensation and work hours, they couldn't provide an answer. I was then told verbatim, 'I would like to offer you the position.' However, I then had to interview with two more supervisors. The second supervisor clarified the pay but was still unsure about the hours. In the end, they didn't offer me the outbound position but instead offered an inbound role with lower pay, part-time hours, and night shifts. When I asked about the outbound sales position again, they said I didn't have the 'adequate experience,' even though it was clearly on my resume. I would have taken it just to get started, but this was the most disorganized interview process I've experienced, a complete waste of my time.

After working in sales for 2 years, I got a promotion. I worked there before, from 2005-2008, then got rehired in 2013 and I love it. I think positivity is super important for success. I have a degree in Business Management and Marketing, which wasn't required but did help me understand the business and my role better. Guitar Center really promotes from within and supports its employees. I got an offer letter and signed it, then sent an acceptance letter. After the promotion, I chatted with my District Manager, who was really supportive and motivating. Having good leaders is key at Guitar Center; they push you to be your best.
