So the interview process had three parts. First, there was an online coding assessment. Then, a technical interview over Zoom. Finally, an onsite technical interview with a senior consultant, and also a cultural interview with the hiring manager.

Technical Coding

I got contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for this Senior Consultant role. After a good initial screening call, they immediately sent me a coding test via Codility with 4 problems, requiring me to solve 3 in 90 minutes. I submitted the test on Feb 20th, 2020. I've tried reaching out multiple times for feedback via email and LinkedIn with no response. Even a friend at Guidewire tried to inquire internally, but still, no communication. It's frustrating not to get any feedback, especially when they initiated the contact. It must be even harder for new grads.

Coding Technical Other

I applied on a Monday and heard back on Thursday that I was moving on. The next week, I got a coding challenge on Codify with two Java questions, due in 100 minutes, and then an aptitude test. The week after, I got feedback and was told I had a phone interview with a manager. I had the interview in week 4. The manager asked a lot of Java questions, had me code a bit, and asked more questions. I found out in week 5 that I wasn't selected.

Confirmed questions8 questions
  • What is the meaning of Static?
  • Regarding Java, what is the significance of public and private?
  • Define an abstract variable and explain its purpose.
