First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guideline.
Customer Success Associate
I went through 3 interviews. First was with the hiring manager, then a panel interview with people I would be working with, and the last one was a final interview with the hiring manager. The panel interview was great because they knew a lot about the role and were really open about the company.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
Customer Success Associate
Scheduling my interview with Guideline was a bit odd. The recruiter initially tried to set it for 8PM, which didn't work for me, so we rescheduled for a few days later. During the call, the recruiter went through my resume line by line, reading each item aloud and asking for confirmation. They seemed really interested in details from my resume. After that, I asked about the Customer Success role, but the recruiter said they were focused on filling many positions and didn't know much about this specific one. I then asked about the salary, and they mentioned an $80K OTE. When I said it was below my target, the recruiter went on a 5-minute explanation about how Guideline is a startup and they focus on their own pay philosophy, expecting people to join. I tried to wrap up the call, but they said I wouldn't get this job and then invited me to apply for sales roles instead.
- Tell me about your background.
- Is everything on your resume accurate?
- What is the salary range for this position?
Customer Success Associate
The recruiter contacted me directly about this role and set up a phone interview. It got rescheduled after I gave my availability because of a scheduling conflict on their end. The call with the recruiter was fine, and they moved me on to talk with the hiring manager via Google Meet. The hiring manager was a little late. The interview was pretty standard, asking me to go over my resume and asking basic questions about how I handle customer interactions. It seemed to go okay, and the hiring manager said I'd hear back soon. I didn't hear anything all week, so I followed up and got a generic email saying I didn't get the job. Honestly, I was hoping for a more personal response, especially after following up and feeling ghosted. Oh well, good luck to them.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult customer.
