Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guidehouse.
Analyst
Started with a quick chat with a recruiter about basic requirements. Then I had a call with my potential day-to-day manager about the role's expectations and the work environment. After that, I spoke with the contract manager for the client, focusing on my skills and career goals. Finally, there was an in-person meeting with a director/VP level person to discuss my interest in the company and the position.
- What are you looking for and what's prompting your job search?
- Can you explain your reasons for seeking a new role?
Analyst
I was contacted by a recruiter, and we scheduled a call, but they had to reschedule it multiple times. On the final attempt, they missed the call, and then I was ghosted. Later, HR reached out again as if nothing happened. The HR person seemed disorganized and didn't pay close attention to my resume. Then, I had interviews with management, which went well. One interviewer was eating snacks and didn't ask any questions, while another was very casual. HR later called to say the interviews went well and that I should expect a response in 2-3 days. I haven't heard back, and I'm no longer interested in a company or HR team that disrespects people's time.
- Could you discuss your experience with financial monitoring?
- What details can you share about your previous experience related to financial monitoring?
Analyst
I had an initial call where they asked me about my CV and to get to know me. It went well and I was invited back for another interview. This was over Teams and it also went really well. The questions were standard interview questions. The interviewers were excellent, really friendly and professional. Overall, the communication throughout the process was great and it was a good hiring experience.
- Can you tell us a little about yourself?
- What's your approach to handling workplace conflict?
