I applied for a Senior Accountant role and the day after, HR emailed me expressing excitement about an interview and asked for my availability. I responded with my availability and a thank you. However, I never heard back from them afterwards. Ghosting candidates is immature and unprofessional.

My first and second round interviews went really well. I was scheduled for the final, third-round interview which was cancelled and rescheduled. Then I was ghosted on the rescheduled date. After emailing them three times I heard no response from the company. They also did not explain their hiring process from the start (i.e. how many of their interviewees are made offers) as other companies do.

I was connected to Guidance via a recruiting agency. The interview involved meeting with the head of HR and the marketing manager who would be my supervisor. While I liked the people and the company culture, the role wasn't exactly what I was looking for, which was a concern. They mentioned they wanted to find quality people and would tailor the position to them, which piqued my interest. I told the recruiter the interview went well but I wanted to see the office, meet the team, and ask follow-up questions about the role and the tailoring aspect. Unfortunately, the next thing I heard was on a Thursday, they offered me the job and wanted me to start that Monday. This felt rushed and sketchy because it was the only time I'd met them, and they previously said they weren't in a rush. Even though I was available, the quick turnaround felt like a red flag. I felt I wasn't given enough time to consider the offer, negotiate, or compare it with other opportunities. I had about a day to decide. I requested another meeting to discuss unanswered questions and get a better feel for the team and environment, partly because I was expecting another offer, needed more info for my decision, and was traveling for a funeral. After this meeting, the offer was rescinded because they were 'worried that I would ultimately not stay with them long term'. This was unfortunate because my reason for not accepting immediately was to ensure the position was the right fit. Ultimately, they lost potentially good talent. I would have stayed if I had accepted, but they seemed to think someone accepting out of desperation would be less likely to leave than someone who had choices and chose them.

Applied online, got resume submitted. Heard back in about 4 business days via email to schedule an interview for 2 days later. Interviewer was welcoming and polite. The interview went well, I was asked basic questions and about my job experience in the mortgage business. We talked about the role and work I'd do if hired, and discussed salary and benefits. About 2 days later, I got a confirmation email that I got the job, and just had to fill out some paperwork and get my background checked.
