We started with an HR phone screening where I was asked to introduce myself, then they went over the job and what's expected, and I could ask questions. After that, there was a video technical interview with the pilot recruiter. They had me brief two approaches and asked a bunch of questions about the plates. Then, they presented a scenario with specific locations and weather conditions and asked if it was a go or no-go decision. The final step was a one-on-one video call with the chief pilot.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Went through a basic HR Zoom call, followed by a Zoom interview with the chief pilot. The final interview was in Salt Lake City. I noticed the chief pilot wasn't really up to par, asking a pilot with 40 years and 20,000 hours of Part 135 experience questions that were more like trivia and not operationally relevant. The 'simulator' for the flight evaluation was just a desktop PC with screens, technically a FTD, not a real simulator. It seems their training department needs serious improvement, either getting a real Level D simulator or more time in one. I got an offer, but after seeing their leadership and training, and then checking their safety record which showed 3 recent accidents likely due to pilot skill gaps, I turned it down and looked elsewhere. It's tough for them to get good people, especially with the low pay and tough working conditions. "Good Luck" to them.

Had a panel interview with 6 people. 4 of them weren't part of Guardian Flight. It felt like they decided based on personality rather than experience. They asked common lead or management type questions. The interview was about an hour.

The interview process was thorough, focusing on regulations and IFR procedural knowledge. The interviewer was pleasant and welcoming. Allocate the full 2.5 hours for the main interview via Teams. A simulator evaluation might also be part of the process.
