I had a 1-hour first stage screening with GSA. It involved an interesting online streaming question with a follow-up. The interviewer was really uncollaborative, I had to keep prompting him for any feedback. He didn't point out any issues with my solution or give hints, and I still got rejected. I'm not a fan of silent interviewers, but I get that the first stages must be laborious for them.

So the first interview was pretty basic, just checking fundamental tech knowledge. Like, they asked me to explain the whole process of searching for a website, say google.com, from your browser. The second round though, was really bad. The first person I talked to was a senior systems engineer, and they were super aggressive and interrogative. It didn't feel like a conversation, more like they were grilling me and talking down to me, which was super uncomfortable and intimidating. Then the second interviewer didn't even show up. I waited ages on Zoom, and the third interviewer just rushed through and ended it in like 20 minutes. Honestly, the whole thing felt disorganized and disrespectful of our time. I'd totally avoid GSA.

A lot of recruiters reach out for roles at this company. The hiring process is quite lengthy, involving two technical interviews, followed by a take-home assessment, then one more interview, and finally a 'super day'. It felt like they were just trying to assess the competition. I was rejected after the second round with really poor feedback, suggesting I don't know how to code, even though the interview itself seemed straightforward (implement a music player with various edge cases and error handling).

After that, there was a take-home assignment involving a prediction task in Python. It was a challenging but engaging process, and I really enjoyed their approach to interviewing. Overall, a great experience.
