Sales Development Representative
Really bad experience, went through 6 rounds of interviews that spanned over a month. Thought I did well in all of them, but didn't get an offer in the end. So much time and effort put in, only to get an auto rejection email. They couldn't even send a personalized email or call. Tried to follow up but got ghosted completely.
- Several role-playing scenarios
- Some one-on-one discussions
- An interview focused on cultural alignment
Director of DevOps
This interview process dragged on for 8+ weeks, which felt like a lot, but I went through with it. Honestly, the CTO/COO seemed to lack alignment with their peers. I've interviewed at places before where they weren't sure what they wanted, but this was different. The final round had leaders who were totally distracted and disengaged. This was supposed to be a case study discussion, and they only asked the 5 questions I had prepared when I prompted them. They said I was thorough, but it felt like they had zero urgency or buy-in. It really points to a lack of culture, empathy, and alignment, and the COO/CTO failed to create any value or explain why they were there. They used 'leadership' as an excuse for not offering me the job, which was a weak move. They set candidates up to fail by having a discussion panel of leaders without making sure those leaders were focused. Before that, I had four 1-on-1s, including a second round with the COO/CTO. One of the interviews was with a friend of the COO/CTO, which is weird for a senior leader who's been there a while. It felt like they didn't trust their own team. The case study was also suspect; they gave a week to prepare, making me wonder if they expected a full work week of prep time, which is a lot to ask for free. This isn't a FAANG company. My friend who also got to this stage had a similarly bad last round with poor feedback, so this seems like a pattern. Definitely avoid this company.
- Given a scenario with multiple platforms across AWS, Azure, and a legacy datacenter, and pressure to cut infrastructure costs by at least 20% without impacting reliability, security, or customer experience, how would you approach this?
- The organization faces pressure to improve operating leverage by reducing infrastructure costs. How do you plan to address the complexity, inefficiency, and risk presented by a hybrid environment including under-optimized AWS/Azure instances and a legacy datacenter with an 18-month colocation contract and aging hardware?
- This is a high-level exercise focused on how you think through challenges, set priorities, and drive transformation. Your task is to share your insights and plan. How do you approach cost management and executive communication in such a scenario?
Account Manager
It was a standard process with 4 meetings: first a recruiter call, then a meeting with the sales manager, followed by a chat with a team member, and finally an assignment. Everyone was super friendly and the whole thing was really transparent. Took about 3-4 weeks total.
- How would you manage a portfolio of 500 customers?
Marketing Operations Manager
The interview process at GrowthZone was super long and took forever. I had six interviews, a case study to do, a behavioral assessment, and a cognitive assessment. It really felt like it would never end. In the end, I just got a generic email saying they went with someone else. After putting in so much time and effort, I was hoping for more specific feedback or at least some closure. The people I met were nice and professional, but the whole process felt really inefficient and not great for candidates.
- For the case study, could you build out a 30-60-90 day multi-touch attribution model?
