I submitted my application online and I'm still in the early stages. My first phone interview was yesterday, it lasted about 40 minutes and had a lot of questions. The interview seemed really organized. It started with questions about my past jobs, like 'Why Groupon?', 'Why Sales?', 'Why did you succeed in previous roles?', 'What could you improve on?', and 'What are you looking for in a position?' Then the recruiter got more into the details of the job, asking a lot of questions I didn't expect for a first interview. The questions were about my knowledge of Groupon and sales, to see if I can actually sell. They weren't super hard, but I was surprised by how many there were. Finally, the recruiter asked if I had any questions.

The interview process is pretty simple. First, there was a 15-minute phone chat about my background, why I'm interested in Groupon, and why sales. The second phone call lasted 30-40 minutes and went deeper into my experiences, specifically how they connect to Groupon, sales, cold calling, account management, and client interactions. Then, I had an in-person interview with three 30-minute sessions. The first was straightforward, the second felt more relaxed, and the third was pretty intense. My advice is to always have some good questions ready that are specific to the interviewer, their work, or their team. Also, be prepared to market yourself and talk about past sales experience, even if it was from retail or restaurants. You should also be ready to do a sales pitch or a role-play.

It was a combo of a phone and Skype call. They seemed to be in a rush and dismissed me quickly without really getting into the details. It felt like they were looking for a direct link to my current job, but the industries and situations are different. They asked a lot about dealing with stress, constant changes, and being part of a fast-moving team.
