First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Groupe Roullier.
Intern
The interview lasted about an hour and was split into two parts: an HR interview of about 30 minutes and an interview with the project manager, also about 30 minutes. The HR part had pretty standard questions, and the second part included technical questions.
- Can you introduce your background and yourself?
Business Development Manager
It was a multi-stage interview. First, a Skype screening, then a group interview with 6 candidates. Each person had only 10 minutes to present themselves and explain their suitability for the role. The company's description of the position as strategic for their development in the area seemed contradictory to the limited time the employees spent interviewing. No feedback was provided to any candidate after the interview. Based on discussions with other candidates and the lack of feedback, it felt like the interviews were mainly to make the Roullier Employees feel important. The contact person kept changing weekly, making it hard to get information or feedback. I would not reapply to this company.
- Please introduce yourself in 5 minutes.
- In 5 minutes, explain why you are a good fit for this position.
Graduate Program
Very rich in exchanges and focused on behavior and soft skills. It's an exchange with managers and laureates from the first edition of the Graduate program followed by a business game where teams should work collaboratively to solve riddles. The game is designed to measure and assess each candidate's behavior. Then there are presentations by the board, the heads of Business Units, and store managers, with the objective of mastering the group's subsidiaries' businesses. Right after that, operational staff and HR conduct interviews, lasting no more than 20 minutes. You need to be precise and get straight to the point to demonstrate your abilities and skills, in addition to your fit with the spirit sought by the recruiters.
- Candidate's determination and adaptation to various economic and geographical contexts.
Office Manager
We had a first phone call with HR to assess our profile and learn about the company. They explained the context for the opening (reason for the vacancy). The main responsibilities were briefly discussed, with details reserved for the next step. Salary wasn't finalized at all. We were told the next steps: a video call followed by an in-person interview. After this 40-minute phone call, we were assured we'd definitely move to the next stage. The company seemed in a hurry. Despite multiple follow-ups (calls, texts, emails), we only received an automated rejection email a month later. This shows a clear lack of respect for candidates and doesn't encourage working for this group. They need to urgently improve their hiring process.
- What management rituals had you implemented in your previous role?
