Software Engineer
It started with an hour-long get-to-know-you chat, then moved straight to the onsite interviews. After the onsite, there was a final round to discuss workflow processes, but ultimately I was rejected for 'lack of experience.' They mentioned they found someone who fit all their criteria. The whole thing took about two months. The take-home involved building a React app that used an external API. The onsite required adding a new feature to that take-home app. They seemed to have a list of features they could ask for. Honestly, it felt like a waste of time, and there seem to be some organizational issues with communication and clarity. The recruiter even brought up a Drupal role, knowing I had no experience, which felt rude given the previous rejection for lack of experience, even though I demonstrated technical skills. I don't think they foster growth; they just want someone with the exact same background to do the same job.

Software Engineer
A recruiter reached out and we had an initial chat about what I was looking for and my background. Then, my resume went to the engineering team, and based on their feedback, I had a second call with an engineering director. This call was pretty technical, focusing on my experience and the technologies I've used, without any tricky questions. After that, I got a take-home assignment to build a basic CRUD API and a front-end app to see the data, which I had a few days to complete. Then, I was invited for a 3-hour onsite interview. This involved six 30-minute interviews with different people from the company. There were some technical questions, but they weren't too hard. It was mostly about the bigger picture and how I'd architect solutions to problems, not about algorithms or whiteboard coding. A big part of the interviews seemed to be about culture fit, meeting with Project Managers, higher-ups, and the team I might join. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job. The feedback was generic, and I didn't find out what went wrong. The recruiter mentioned my Node.js knowledge wasn't enough, which was odd since no one asked me about Node.js. The only real issue I had was the recruiter calling late in the day to tell me I was rejected; an email would have been better. I'm still not sure what they look for in an employee, but it seems like a good place to work.

I had a phone interview scheduled, but the recruiter didn't call. We rescheduled, and the interview went well. The recruiter mentioned I'd get an email for a second technical phone interview the following Tuesday. But I never got any email. I followed up via email and even LinkedIn Premium InMail, but still no response. I don't know if I'm still being considered or if I've been rejected. After weeks, the recruiter viewed my LinkedIn profile but still left me hanging. This has been a super disrespectful recruiting process.
