Senior Compiler Engineer
I went through six interviews, a mix of coding and talking. Three were on Coderpad, with pretty straightforward coding questions. The focus wasn't just on getting the right answer, but more about showing how I approach problems, explain my thinking, and write clean code. The other three interviews were more chat-based, covering my past work, how I collaborate, if I'm a good fit culturally, and what drives me to grow.

Account Executive
The interview process was a breeze, totally well-organized. They let me know about each step beforehand, and getting interviews set up and coordinating with everyone involved was super smooth. The chats were really engaging and to the point, making the whole thing efficient and honestly, pretty positive.

Hardware Supply Planning Director
The whole hiring thing from the first email I got from HR to when they gave me the offer took around 1.5 months. I had six interviews in total, and one of them was a big panel interview. It felt really complete and organized, and I talked to people from different teams. I thought everyone I talked to was super professional and nice throughout the whole thing. The interviews were spaced out just right, giving me enough time to get ready and think between each step. They kept in touch the whole time, so I always knew what was going on. Honestly, it made me feel really wanted and super hyped about the job. They were really detailed and thoughtful in how they did things, showing they really want to find the right person but also want the candidates to feel good about it.
- How would you describe your leadership style?
Sales Engineer
The interview process was really thorough and people from different roles participated, giving both sides a good sense of each other. While I initially wondered about interviewing with 10 people, I appreciated it because it felt like Groq was invested in finding the right fit and giving me a clear picture of the company. The pacing and duration of the interviews were also great. The panel interview and the interactions with everyone were definite highlights, which is unique given my 20+ years in IT. It was a great process that made me excited about Groq. However, the final stages were really disappointing due to a lack of transparency, respect for my situation, and a logical explanation for what happened. The recruiter said I did great in the panel and the hiring committee was positive, with any potential issues seen as easily learnable. I told the recruiter I had competing offers with deadlines and bought extra time, but couldn't wait forever. I assumed an offer would come, but each day brought excuses, with reassurances about CEO approval. I stressed my deadline and desire to join Groq, but needed an offer to decide. I was told the CEO was the hold-up, with excuses like 'he's in meetings' or 'traveling'. The most confusing part was hearing that an intricate justification write-up was needed for the CEO, who was being a 'stickler' about something unknown. It seemed odd that the CEO was delaying the decision for seemingly minor reasons, especially knowing I had other offers. Weeks later, after I accepted another offer, the recruiter said the CEO rejected my offer, along with others. This makes me question if Groq has scaling issues with the CEO as a bottleneck or cash flow problems. It's astonishing they spent 2+ months evaluating me with a strong desire to hire, only for the process to stall. The hiring manager never reached out, even to say they were waiting for CEO approval, unlike the other company that kept me informed. This 'Goldman Sachs' approach from Groq wasn't impressive.
