Project Engineer
For a group interview, make sure you can talk about your background, experiences, and accomplishments. Emphasize your education, your construction engineering and management skills, and your enthusiasm for the field. Be ready to go over specific projects you've done, especially those that used software, and how what you know fits the job needs. Think about how to answer typical interview questions and have ready examples showing you can work in a team, solve problems, and lead.
- Can you introduce yourself briefly?
Field Engineer
I applied through my university's job board and after about a week, I got a callback to set up an interview. It was a one-on-one with the project manager that lasted about 30-40 minutes and mostly consisted of general interview questions.
- Tell me about yourself
- Why are you interested in this role?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Purchasing Assistant
I was contacted on LinkedIn by a manager about an opening to help the Purchasing admin. The manager had a phone interview with me first, then suggested I send my resume to the HR manager. HR then called me for another phone interview, where they gave me some general info about the job. After that, I had an in-person interview with the person I'd report to and the recruiting manager. I asked them questions about the company's growth and changes, and they mentioned past employee complaints about lack of training and organization, but said HR has improved things. They told me there was one other candidate and a decision would be made by the end of the week. The hiring manager promised someone would follow up with me. However, I was ghosted and never heard back. It would have been common courtesy to at least get an update.
- Do you have experience with accounting software?
- What are your plans for the next five years?
Intern
It was a 2 round interview process. First round was a phone call, and the second round was in person. The in-person interview was unique, with both a one-on-one interview and a group interview.
- Can you walk me through your resume and give me some specific examples?
