First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Greyhound.
Marketing Coordinator
The process kicks off with two phone interviews where we get to know your background, experience, and how you communicate. If those go well, you'll come in to meet the team. This part is all about talking more about what you bring to the table and letting you ask about what it's like to work here and what's expected. It's a good way for both sides to figure out if this is the right move.
- What are your predictions for how travel habits will evolve over the next three years?
Bus Driver
I put in my application on their website. Then their secretary got in touch and we scheduled my interview. I met with the two managers by myself in their conference room and we chatted over coffee about the job and they gave a presentation. They were really good about answering all my questions to my satisfaction. They even offered to keep my application on file for a few weeks while I thought about their offer more. Every interview can be a bit different though, because it's not always the same two people you meet.
- What makes you want to drive for Greyhound?
- Does your wife support your decision and does she understand the time commitments this job might have on your family?
Marketing
The experience was pretty bad; I wouldn't work there based on how they treated people interviewing. It started with some online situational questions, then a phone call where they talked about the job and asked how my background fit. After that, they flew me to Dallas for a long in-person interview. I flew back home and heard nothing. I tried calling and emailing HR multiple times, but they totally ghosted me. It would have been nice to get at least an email saying they went with someone else.
- Given a negative situation, how would you handle public relations?
- Describe how your experience aligns with the requirements of this role.
Customer Experience Supervisor
This was a long and frankly wasteful hiring process that took three months from application to hire. It felt like a fantasy compared to the actual job, especially the ridiculous online test, which was disrespectful. The process started with an application, followed by a very brief 10-minute one-on-one call. Then there was a second interview that lasted only 2 minutes and involved just one question. The third interview was longer, about 30 minutes, with four people asking typical questions. They also included a take-home test.
- Typical crap
