Designer
The job I interviewed for wasn't actually what the company was looking for; the ad had incorrect information. The interview was a chaotic experience. I met the designer/owner, who didn't look at my portfolio and instead gave me a detailed tour of the facility, which I found interesting from a small business standpoint. There was a happy dog running around, wet from the rain and knocking things over. After a long chat about various topics, I saw how the design team interacted. This part was very awkward and uncomfortable; one graphic artist was clearly disliked by the designer and received insults throughout my visit. I assume it's worse when strangers aren't around. Even if nothing else had been wrong, this alone would make me not want to work there.
- No questions were asked about my skills or experience.
Sales Associate
I found out about the company through a friend, so I did my own research and then applied on Indeed. They emailed me back asking me to come in for an interview at their office, which was in a really nice spot in Pelham, NY. Everyone there seemed really nice. I met with the Head of Sales and the owner. They asked me some questions about my past experience and why I was looking to leave my current job. I was offered the position.
- Tell me about why you are leaving your current company.
- What's your sales experience like?
Customer Service Representative
I met with the head of sales and she asked me a lot about my experience working on the phones and how I handled customer service inquiries. She was very thorough in describing the position and I didn't have a lot of questions for her before I was offered and accepted the position.
- Tell me about your customer service experiences?
- Do you have a college degree?
Compliance Officer
It was pretty standard but friendly. They first listened carefully and kindly to my background, asking for some clarifications, then questioned me about the skills needed and the risks associated with this position.
- What difficulties do you foresee encountering in this role, and how would you address them?
