First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Greenspire.
Field Marketing Representative
Had an initial interview with a really enthusiastic HR person who spoke highly of the company and managed to schedule a follow-up with the hiring manager quickly. I was initially very impressed and excited about the possibility of working there because of their energy. However, the next interview was led by a different HR rep who, despite claiming to be good at interviews, made it a very difficult hour for me. Her attitude felt insincere and aggressive, making the conversation unpleasant. She mentioned it was fine that I wouldn't meet the hiring manager, but I suspect it would have been better if I had. I'm not sure if the company culture is generally uninviting, or if it was just her. Ultimately, I don't think I would have been a good fit for the company anyway, mainly because their pay structure means you can earn very little even with maximum effort, unless you achieve a managerial promotion, as I recall. There's no limit to earning potential if you succeed in the competitive setting. She also said she'd follow up after discussing with her team but never did, which I found disrespectful, especially since she prevented me from speaking with someone more senior.
- What's your strategy for weeks where your earnings are minimal?
- Why do you believe you are a suitable candidate?
- Do you have any inquiries?
Energy Consultant
The interview process began with an introductory call where they asked about your motivation to join Greenspire and your passion for offering environmental services to residents. If you successfully navigated that initial stage, you'd proceed to a final interview. In this final interview, they'd gauge your ability to handle door-to-door interactions and engage with diverse individuals. They also explained the company's structure, the compensation model, and the performance metrics required for promotion. The job offer was communicated via a phone call.
- What makes you want to be a part of Greenspire?
- Tell me about your interest in delivering environmental services to homeowners.
- How comfortable are you with going door-to-door and interacting with a variety of people?
Marketing
I interviewed at the office on the westside. The interview process was pretty streamlined. Everyone was friendly, but you could tell they meant business. They explained a lot about the day-to-day duties, but also how it applied to the growth. I met with 2 people on 2 different interviews. Both were pleasant to talk to. I felt like they just wanted to have a conversation and get to know me rather than just drilling me with questions. I don't particularly like going on interviews, but that's because I've had a couple bad experiences with rude interviewers. These guys were different. I work here now, so I guess that fact kind of speaks for itself.
- What do you think makes a good manager?
Field Marketing Representative
There were two in-person interviews that were pretty basic and straightforward. Then, on the afternoon of the second interview, there was a final phone interview with higher management. The phone call went a little deeper but wasn't too difficult. As long as you can describe your goals and motivations and link them to what the company is all about, it's no sweat.
- What motivates you to seek employment with Greenspire?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
