First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GreenSlate.
UX Developer
It was a two-call process. The first was a general intro call, and the second was the technical and final interview. The first call was pretty standard, asking me to talk about myself and things like that. The second interview was on the easier side with some basic questions. They did ask me to put a table into a grid using dev tools, but I couldn't share my screen without restarting my computer. I thought I was perfect for the role, but they ghosted me even after the recruiter said they would follow up.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your basic qualifications?
Technical Account Manager
The whole interview thing went pretty smoothly. The recruiter was nice and knew their stuff. They told me about the company, the job, and how the interviews would go, and answered all my questions. I had a first meeting with the hiring manager, but didn't get the job. It all happened really fast, less than 10 days from when I applied to meeting the manager.
- Can you tell me about your background in the entertainment industry?
- What's your familiarity with production accounting?
People Operations Assistant
There were three stages in total. It started with a quick screening call with someone from the internal recruiting team. Then, I had a second virtual meeting with the SVP of People Operations. The final step was an onsite panel interview where I met the people I'd already spoken with, plus my direct report and the SVP of Payroll Operations.
- What's your approach to managing interactions with strong personalities in the workplace?
Marketing Assistant
I applied for a Marketing Assistant role and got invited to a first video interview. The interview felt a little fast-paced, but I was hopeful and glad to learn more about the company. They said I'd hear back in 2-3 days, which seemed good. I also found out there would be four rounds in total – which I thought was a lot for an entry-level job, but I was still keen to keep going. A week went by with no news, so I sent a polite follow-up email. Sadly, I never got a reply or any other contact. It was a disappointing experience, especially after putting in the work to get ready. It's disappointing that companies still ghost candidates after they've interviewed. It makes the company look bad in terms of professionalism and communication. Looking back, I guess I'm lucky I didn't move forward.
- Can you explain how your marketing background aligns with the requirements of this role?
