I saw a posting and reached out to a networking contact who passed my information along. I ended up having two rounds of interviews for the internship. The first was with the HR manager and some staff, and the second was with the staff I would be working with. The second interview had to be rescheduled, which was a bit frustrating as I had to wait another hour or find a new time later that week. I opted to wait. The questions were pretty standard, asking about my knowledge of the company, my connection, my studies, my experience with GQR and specific tasks. I noticed some potential red flags, like when they reacted uncomfortably to me asking if they had an office where I used to live, and their 'work hard, play hard' mentality, along with the detail that interns sometimes run errands for personal reasons. After not hearing back from an HR follow-up, the HR manager apologized and asked if I'd be considered for a full-time role, which surprised me. Despite wanting to focus on polling and research, the full-time role offered was on the client/business side. The interview for this position was with different people, and it felt like a poor fit. I asked for more context on how the role fit within the company, but the interviewers' interaction was strange, with one constantly interrupting the other. The questions about entrepreneurship and client relations didn't align with my background. Ultimately, I didn't get this position either, and I'm okay with that given the odd interview and my reservations about the location.

I applied for the Domestic Intern position by emailing a cover letter and resume. Tiffany, the HR head, called me the next day to talk about my interest in GQR and then scheduled an interview for the following day. When I got there, Tiffany interviewed me for about 10 minutes, asking about my background and any campaign experience I might have. Afterward, two people from the Domestic Team interviewed me, asking standard questions and answering mine. I got a call on Monday offering me the job.

Applied online, and the whole thing took about two weeks. First, I had a phone interview. The next day, I had a panel interview with the team. Then, I had to do an assignment. I submitted it but never heard back, so I followed up a week later and was told I didn't get the job. They said it was mostly behavioral questions, and to make sure I gave examples showing I had the skills for the job.
