First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Green Thumb Industries.
Asset Protection Specialist
The interview was conducted over Zoom and felt more like a casual conversation than a formal interview, although some questions were asked. They emphasized being yourself, highlighting the company's awesome culture and how much employees genuinely enjoy their work.
- They really wanted to know about my availability.
Shift Supervisor
Got an email and a phone call from the recruiter. First, I had to do a video interview where I recorded myself answering some questions. If I passed that, I moved on to the recruiter phone call. The recruiter messed up and wasn't good at staying in touch, which almost made me miss an interview because they didn't tell me about it. They also didn't suggest other jobs I might be good for, even though I asked.
- What's your interest in cannabis?
- Can you recall a time you trained a team member on a company policy?
- Tell me about an experience with a difficult customer.
HR Business Partner
The whole process was really nice, and they got back to me within 48-72 hours after every interview. There were 3-4 rounds, and I made it all the way to the VP level interview. That was on a Monday, and they never got back to me. I reached out to the recruiter and the hiring manager separately, and they didn't respond. I think it would be courteous to at least tell a candidate who got to a VP level interview that they didn't get the job. Almost a month of interviewing and then getting ghosted. All that to say, they seem like a really nice team to work with, and everyone was knowledgeable about the role and the team. I wish them the best.
- Describe a situation where you were involved in change management. What actions did you take to achieve your objective?
People Operations Coordinator
The whole interview process was about 2 weeks long from when I applied. It started with a recruiter phone screen, then a manager interview, followed by a panel interview, and concluded with an on-site interview with a director and a coworker. They also had me do a quick personality test. About halfway through, they mentioned a take-home assignment, which wasn't brought up in the initial recruiter call. I think this should be disclosed upfront so candidates can decide if they want to proceed. I only agreed because I was already deep into the process, but I wouldn't have if I'd known earlier. I personally didn't find the take-home assignment beneficial for this role, especially with prior experience, and felt it was unnecessary given the low salary offer and the extensive interview steps.
- Can you share an instance where you had a disagreement with your manager?
