I got a phone call about a month after I applied for the Program Coordinator position. Then, I had my first interview, which was a panel interview with about 4 people. We were in a small conference room, and I sat across from them. They gave me a list of questions to look over before we started. They took turns asking me the questions one by one. After that, I had a second interview with the Director and President of the division. This interview was more relaxed, and they asked me about my future goals, like where I see myself in 5 years, and why I was interested in working for their department.

Presentation Behavioral

I taught a brief mock information literacy class and answered several typical questions about my background working with students and faculty, as well as how I approach working with diverse groups. It was a pretty good interview experience, with pleasant interviewers and I felt I represented myself well. I left feeling positive. However, the turnaround for preparation and travel was quick, and after all that, I was never notified of their decision, even after I followed up a month later. I only found out by chance through a friend who got the job. The lack of even a basic email notification seems really rude and dismissive of my time. I'm hoping it was an oversight and not their usual practice.

I had a meeting set up with the person who would be my manager. My employee referral helped out and made it feel more relaxed during the intros. We knew from the start this job wasn't permanent. The interview was in a private spot, and we talked about problems on paper, though there was a whiteboard if needed.
