Support Specialist
Got contacted about a week and a half after applying. The AmeriCorps coordinator sent an email to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was mainly to go over the different AmeriCorps positions I applied for and what each job was about. After I picked my preferred job (they said I'd still be considered for the others), they reached out later that week to schedule a Skype interview because I was an out-of-town student. The interview was a face-to-face with the coordinator and a senior manager.
- Tell me about a time you achieved something significant.
- What qualities make you a great fit for this role?
- What is your motivation for seeking employment with us?
Individual Giving Manager
The interview process felt inefficient. It was over 2.5 hours in person for the first round. Midway through, a new person joined and I had to restart the entire conversation, covering my background and qualifications again. Despite their emphasis on efficiency, it wasn't demonstrated. They described the job as 'easy,' which made me feel undervalued. They seemed unprepared, which was ironic given their talk about preparation. They couldn't answer basic questions, like whether this role was new or why the previous person left, which was quite telling. The interviewers' discomfort was evident through their fidgeting and nervous laughter before giving a weak answer.
- What is your motivation for this position and what skills do you bring?
- Can you share an instance where a situation deteriorated significantly?

Director
I had two Zoom interviews. The first one was with potential supervisors, which went well. The second interview was with potential colleagues, four people in total, but two of them didn't turn on their cameras, making it hard to read their reactions. After the second interview, I never heard back from HR. I feel like they ghosted me, and I'm very disappointed with the organization.
- How would you handle difficult coworkers on a daily basis?
Training and Compliance Coordinator
The interview process involved 4 interviews, starting with an initial one-on-one, followed by two group interviews. There were significant gaps between interviews, sometimes up to a month. After the last interview, communication stopped. I was told there would be a fifth interview, but it never happened. A few weeks later, I got an email saying they hired someone internally.
- How would you champion healthy food initiatives with our partners?
