I applied online and had a first interview. Then, I had a second interview over Zoom. The third interview was in person with two managers and the COO. The managers were alright, but seemed like typical agency employees who don't know much about marketing. The COO was arrogant and condescending, especially to younger people. She seemed to know the least about marketing out of the three. When the interview ended, she rudely rushed me out and slammed the door. It felt like they were all unaware they're just employees making owners rich at a small agency. Overall, it seemed like another fake marketing agency focused on control over employees, not client success.

Behavioral Other

I had two good interviews and was asked to fill out what seemed like on-boarding paperwork. I thought I was going to get the job, but then I got an automated rejection email. Even though the follow-up communication was sent to my personal email, the rejection came through an automated system. After I completed the very long paperwork, I realized they never checked my references or past employers. Why did they have me fill out that paperwork? They should only give that to one or two top candidates, not everyone who makes it to a second interview, because it makes them think they're getting the job. It's a really poor hiring strategy.

Behavioral Technical

I had two interviews with this awesome company I was really excited about. First was a phone call, then a long 4-hour in-person one. Everything seemed great, people were nice, and we talked about training and tasks. They mentioned other candidates were still being interviewed, which is fine, but after spending 4 hours there, only getting an automated email afterwards is pretty bad. I think candidates would prefer a call from an interviewer explaining why they weren't a fit. This lack of communication after a long interview is a common issue with companies hiring today.

I met with managers from different departments in the office. We talked about my resume, and they asked me some questions before moving me to the next round. The second round was several hours with the manager of the department I'd work in. I shadowed them, tried out the role, and we assessed if it was a good fit for me and the company. I met several people during the interview and got a real sense of the company culture and team, plus a good idea of what to expect if I got the job.
