Audit Manager
I was contacted by a recruiter who set up an interview with the hiring manager. It was surprising to find out that a highly regulated insurance company only has three people in its Compliance Department. The hiring manager was very nice and quickly had me go through three more interview rounds. That's a total of five interviews for a job that pays poorly, which is really the Head of Audit role but titled and paid as a Manager. Now I feel ghosted even though I've followed up. The recruiter also mentioned this job doesn't offer a bonus and asked if I was flexible on salary. It seems I avoided a bad situation. It's obvious this company doesn't value or prioritize compliance and audit. I can't help but think maybe I didn't get the job simply because I'm worth more.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Compliance Manager
The interview process started with a 30-minute recruiter screening. After that, I interviewed with a Director of Compliance. Then, I had another interview with a different Director and a Claims Manager. The final interview was with the CCO of Compliance. Each interview was about 30-45 minutes long. After the interviews, the recruiter called me to discuss the feedback. I was told the role was quite specialized and from the last interview, it seemed like they were looking for someone with consulting experience. However, they seemed to like me and mentioned that if roles opened up, I might have a chance to join the organization. I appreciated getting feedback directly instead of being ignored.
- Can you describe your experience in the healthcare industry?
Financial Analyst
I had a phone interview, then a virtual one with the hiring manager. After that, there were four in-person interviews. The week after the in-person interviews, I got a generic email saying they had a lot of interest and wouldn't be moving forward with my application. It would have been nice to get a more personal rejection, especially since I made it to the final round and went in person. The job was reposted after that.
- Describe how you would explore and interpret data sets.
Account Coordinator
I applied online and was really looking forward to the interview. I had a lot ready to discuss, but unfortunately, the recruiter was really rude from the beginning to the end. I honestly should have just hung up the phone right away. I didn't really find out much about the job, and I didn't get to talk about my skills and what I'm interested in because it felt more like an interrogation than a chat. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but either way, it's not the right fit for me.
