You start by filling out a form. Then there's a strength-based assessment, followed by a video interview which is competency-based. After that, you have a case study, which is quite difficult due to limited time (you have 22 minutes to analyze 6-7 tabs and write). I didn't pass this stage, but the next steps are a group assessment and then a partner interview. GT provides feedback and processes applications quickly, unlike many firms that don't give feedback even if you don't reach the final stage. They are very helpful.

The process begins with a brief application form, followed by online assessments. I enjoyed the online assessment as it was more varied than those that I have completed with other firms. The next stage is a digital interview. Up until this point I found the application process very positive, however the digital interview certainly changed that. The first part of the digital interview is questions relating to the firm, your strengths and experience. Each question is shown in video form, and you are then given 30 seconds to prepare an answer to each question. You are then given 1 minute 30 seconds to answer the question. I do not feel the time restraints here were realistic in enabling you to deliver a quality answer to the question, considering some of the questions had three different parts. The second part of the interview is a written exercise. You are given four different samples of information to analyse and a task description. You are given 20 minutes to complete this part of the interview. This part was relatively simple. Personally, I did not enjoy the verbal part of the interview at all. I do not feel that it gave the opportunity to show a persons true personality, abilities and strengths. I found it impersonal and feel you could gain much more insight on a person and how well they would fit into your organisation through a telephone or skype screening. After completing the interview I received an email to arrange a follow up call. You are given a link to schedule this call, where you select dates and available times are shown for you to select. This was yet again a negative experience as I went through two months worth of dates and apparently there were no time slots available.

First, there was an Online Application Form which was simple and straightforward. Then came the Online Psychometric Tests, which were a bit tricky but doable with practice. The next stage was a Telephone Interview where the interviewer was really friendly and nice, and the questions weren't too hard. I felt like I built good rapport and got confirmation right after passing, with details about the assessment day to follow. The Final Stage was the Assessment Centre, but I was left in the pool for about three months. Despite making calls and following up, I was only told later that they had filled all their spots and I should reapply next year.
