My experience interviewing at Grant Street Group was really thorough and well-thought-out. It kicked off with an online video assessment and a quick written task to show my communication and problem-solving abilities. Then, I chatted with HR about the company culture and what to expect next. After that, I did a case study with someone from the PMO team. They gave me a requirements brief and I had to map out a project roadmap, flag risks and assumptions, and come up with questions, all in an hour. This felt super realistic and let me demonstrate my project planning skills in a timed, team-like setting. The last part was a panel interview with C-suite folks and other team members. It was engaging and I got to meet a bunch of people from different departments, which gave me a good sense of the team vibe and how leaders operate. All in all, the process was organized, clear, and really focused on people. It showed me GSG is committed to finding the right fit for both them and me and is willing to spend time getting to know candidates. It also gave me a lot of chances to see if the company was a good place for me, making my decision to join much easier.

The interview process at Grant Street Group was really quick and they were super responsive, which I appreciated. They have a clear path for hiring and don't drag things out. I had a recruiter call first to see if I was a fit. Then, the hiring manager gave me a case study where I had to outline my approach to project phases, schedule, and risks. After that, an executive called to check my suitability again. The final round was supposed to be a 6-hour 'Chorus call' with 3 more executives and 4 project managers, but 2 executives had to cancel, so I ended up interviewing with 8 people in total. They didn't tell me who I'd be interviewing with beforehand, only the morning of, or even minutes before. They also scheduled the final 6-hour interview block based on their availability, which felt like a lot and meant extra childcare costs for me, and frankly, it felt a bit disrespectful. They didn't offer me the job, and honestly, I probably wouldn't have taken it anyway because it didn't feel like a good match after going through the process.

The application process was quite involved. In addition to submitting your work history, they require a writing sample and skills assessment for you to even apply. After a recruiter reviews your submissions, they'll reach out if they think there's a potential match. The initial call with the recruiter is generally straightforward as they aren't subject matter experts and are mainly looking for basic information. Following that, you'll have discussions with two other project managers who will ask more detailed questions. There were more interviews scheduled after that, but I didn't continue further in the process and don't know what the subsequent steps entail.
