I wouldn't suggest applying here because it was the worst interview experience ever. The recruiter initially asked about my experience and desired role, to which I responded. Then she clarified she was asking about my personal interests and hobbies, so I answered again. The rest of the call was very awkward. She seemed unhappy and didn't focus on my professional background, but asked irrelevant and inappropriate personal questions. Because I'm not white, she asked when I came to the US, about my visa status, and where I'd lived, which felt biased and invasive. Her attitude remained negative even after I clarified my status. Professional interviewers focus on work experience and fit, not personal life. She seemed unhappy throughout, making it uncomfortable and disrespectful. To make matters worse, she canceled the next 30-minute interview with the hiring manager, which felt abrupt and dishonest given it was already scheduled. It was clear my time wasn't respected, especially after I'd prepared.

The interview process was pretty bad. I was prepared and had relevant experience, and I did okay on the tests. My first interview was with HR, and it felt hostile. The interviewer was cold and mechanical, didn't let me talk much, asked questions I'd already answered, and seemed suspicious. They asked for very specific IP details about my current job, which I couldn't give. It felt like they were trying to disqualify me quickly. I almost didn't continue, but heard this is common for them. The next interview was with two managers. It was a bit better, but still not great. They were less hostile but still asked very specific questions, didn't give me the benefit of the doubt, offered no feedback, and didn't build any rapport. My work is complex, and I felt I had to oversimplify it or water it down too much. It felt like they had specific answers in mind and weren't open to anything else. It seemed like they didn't really want to hire anyone and were just going through the motions. I work at a bigger, faster tech company and found the people here less personable than even there. This place might be one of the worst I've interviewed at.

This was a long interview process over three days. Day one was a recruiter chat, no camera, very in-depth questions. I didn't think I did great, but I moved on. Round two was with a Team Lead and Operations Lead, asking behavioral/situational questions, which was a good experience. I got to round three. Round three, today, was my elimination round. It started with an interview with a high-level Operations person, then two mid-level managers, focusing on past experience. Then came the case study, which was run by the Operations Manager. They asked how I'd implement a hypothetical client feature. Given my background in traditional BA work, I gave it a shot. My solution wasn't perfect, and I missed some considerations, but I think I handled their concerns okay, even getting some positive feedback. Even though it wasn't perfect, I didn't think I completely bombed it and was hopeful. Unfortunately, 40 minutes after the case study, they canceled the rest of my interviews because my solution wasn't adequate. It was disappointing since I felt the role fit my background. Overall, the process was positive, and no one made me feel out of place. I wish I'd understood their case study expectations better, but it is what it is. I wish everyone at GSG the best and thank them for their time.
- Can you walk me through a detailed past project that took several weeks and involved multiple stakeholders?
- How would you go about implementing a specific feature that a hypothetical client has requested?
