The interview process involved 2 main stages, plus an assessment, and background and reference checks. The first stage was with the hiring manager, and the second stage was with both the manager and director. Each of these stages lasted about 30 minutes. It was a standard interview with behavioral questions.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process included a recruiter screening, a virtual chat with the hiring manager, an interview with the director, and a skills test. I stopped the process after the manager chat. The manager was good, and you could tell the company cared about what they do. The manager did mention the heavy workload a few times though. But, the pay wasn't great for what they're asking, like $19/hr to start. It felt a bit misleading because when you apply, they ask about salary expectations, and I figured if they called me after that, they'd be willing to pay what I was looking for. They also brought up optional overtime, hinting that people use it to get by and finish all their work. The interview itself went fine, and they said I'd be moving on. But after thinking about it, I decided not to go further. Besides the pay issue, I didn't like that they didn't seem to care about scheduling. You can't pick a time or even say if their time works, they just tell you. My interview was in the middle of the workday, which I could manage, but I wasn't happy about the lack of flexibility.

Behavioral Group Presentation

The interview process began with two rounds led by the director and two associates. Oddly, the director was in charge of scheduling, which led to some disorganization, with interviews sometimes set up as late as a week after I provided my availability. The lack of clarity on interview duration, especially during the workday, was a concern, as one interview was an hour and the other 30 minutes, neither of which was disclosed beforehand. The final stage involved an executive and, unexpectedly, a senior manager, turning it into a group panel. This panel rigorously questioned my work history chronologically, asking about my reasons for leaving each previous job as if I had something to hide. The formality and the way certain questions were posed made it clear that this role, despite the company's inspiring mission, is essentially a high-pressure cold-calling sales position within a specific work culture. They require commuting to a downtown office even though most of the team is remote, and the compensation is below market value for the high expectations.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The recruiter communication from Grant Associates corporate was not great. I had a phone screen, a 45-minute test, and 3 interviews over about six weeks. After all that, I didn't hear back for over a week and then got an email saying the job went to someone else. The whole thing felt like a waste of my time, but I really liked the sound of the job, so I kept trying to move forward. I felt like all three interviews went well, but the interviewers didn't seem to know who I was or how far along I was. I had to chase them to set up interviews, and I only had one recruiter contact, who I had to email 3-4 times to get a response. The company seemed cool based on the description, but it was unclear which office the job was for. My experience was a letdown mainly due to the poor communication. I think if they had combined the interviews into one or two panels with the main managers, it would have been simpler, even if the outcome was the same.
