First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Grand Central Bakery.
Internal Communications Manager
The interview process was clearly communicated and professional, with reasonable timelines. The people I interviewed with were those I'd be working with directly. It was better than any other interview process I'd been through.
- Can you explain how your skills match what you're looking for in this position?
Baker
Applied online and got an email back right away about scheduling a phone interview. The phone interview with the shift manager was quick and to the point. They just confirmed my info from the application and asked about shift times, which weren't in the job description. I was disqualified because I said I could only work 4 shifts a week, even though the job says 4-5 shifts, but they usually only offer 5-day weeks unless it's really slow. It was good that the interviewer was upfront about everything, which doesn't happen often.
- Can you commit to working shifts that begin at 5am?
Team Member
I talked to the store manager on the phone, then I had an in-person interview with them. Some people do their phone interview with the district manager.
- Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a customer in a past role.
