Finance
I've interviewed with GR0 multiple times since 2020 for finance roles that were basically the same job under different titles. The most recent time, the process had four interview stages over several weeks, including multiple team chats and a final round with the founders. The earlier interviews went well. The team members I talked to were professional, smart, and knew the business well. Those chats gave me a good idea of the company and the work they do in digital marketing. But, after getting through a few rounds, it wasn't clear what exact profile the company was really looking for. In the final interview with the founders, one seemed interested, but the other seemed pretty bored, making the outcome feel kind of set before we even started talking. After doing multiple interview cycles with them over the years for very similar jobs, my main thought is about how long and repetitive the process is. It makes sense to be careful, but going through four interview stages for a job that's been posted in slightly different ways before can feel inefficient for candidates who put in a lot of time preparing and meeting with the team.

SEO Campaign Manager
The interview process went WAY better than I expected. My first interview was mid-august and the last was in the first week of September, but I think the length depends on your/their availability. The whole process realistically would take 3-4 weeks. They asked both technical and on-page SEO questions, and questions about communication and behavioral habits. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly friendly and personable, making the interview process very conversational and comfortable. 1. Screening interview - I spoke with Mel! She was a delight through the entire process and was able to answer any questions I had, and followed up after each round to talk through things. 2. Assessment - This look me ~1 hr, but the variety of questions was interesting and definitely allowed for a gauge of my knowledge of SEO, client communication, etc. 3. Initial Interview - I had a panel with a few members who asked some SEO and behavioral questions. Everyone was extremely conversational. It was super easy to keep the conversion open and I never felt like I was being hammered with questions just for the sake of it. 4. Panel Interview - This interview was also a panel with more people directly in the SEO departments. Again, everyone was so nice and personable. I had to prep a presentation for this round, which wasn't bad, and presenting it to the team was super easygoing. They answered any questions I had and asked relevant questions about keyword research/client communication. I left this call feeling very good about the role and the culture at the company. 5. CEO connect - I had a ~20-minute call with Kevin, who seems like a GREAT CEO. It's evident he cares about the culture and his employees as people and works diligently to drive growth to Gr0. It's not often you meet CEOs who are involved in the interview process like this - he's personable, cares about his employees and future ones, and truly believes that you should care about the person first vs. treating someone as only an employee. I liked that Kevin really cares about your 'why' for working for them and/or leaving your current company. There's no wonder why Gr0's CEOs are named in the top CEOs for women.

SEO Specialist
The interview process had five parts: First, a call with the recruiter. Second, a take-home assignment where I had to audit a website and answer technical questions about its issues. Third, a video interview with the Learning and Development Manager to go over the take-home. Fourth, a video interview with the manager of the SEO Specialist team. Fifth, a video interview with the CEO and co-founder. The recruiter, Lauren, was really nice and made me feel comfortable, like talking to a friend, and she was a great resource. The take-home was fun and let me show off my SEO knowledge. The Learning and Development Manager, Kirkland, was also very kind and we talked about the take-home and team-oriented questions, and he told me more about how GR0 works. The SEO Specialist Manager, Colin, was friendly too, which made me feel good about the team. This interview was more technical, asking about my SEO knowledge and experience with certain issues, but Colin made it feel low-pressure. Finally, I met the CEO, Kevin, which was a brief, friendly intro to learn about the company from his perspective and ask any last questions.

Executive Assistant
Before they would even consider me for a virtual interview, I had to take the AcuMax "assessment." It's kind of a fake science test where they ask you just two things: first, pick the words you think best show how others want you to be, and second, pick the words that really describe you. From your answers, AcuMax makes this 9-page report that supposedly tells them how you're "hard-wired," how good you are at communicating, your patience level, how independent you are, and all that. The report didn't really nail me, and I felt like this place was totally missing out on someone who would've been a great fit. Any company that uses AcuMax, or tests like it, is probably filtering out good candidates.
