Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GQR Global Markets.
Recruiter
The interview process was brief, consisting of only two steps. They were less focused on my past experience and more interested in my career aspirations. It was a positive experience overall. I'd highly recommend doing thorough research on the company beforehand, as they appreciated that I had.
- What are your long-term career goals for the next five years?
Senior Recruiter
The interview process was straightforward. I only went through the first two rounds. The first one was a basic call to discuss the recruitment they do and the jobs they have open. After that, they asked about my experience, my recruiting management style, my typical number of open requisitions, and what salary I was expecting. They also wanted to know which specific recruiting area they focus on would appeal to me most.
- Can you tell me the reason you're seeking a new position?
- What's your motivation for looking for a new role?
Recruiter
First, there was a prescreen with Talent that went great, my rep was nice and authentic. The next round was an interview with either the manager or director, though both interviews got rescheduled, we managed to work it out. The whole process was: 1. Prescreen with HR 2. Interview with Manager or Director 3. In person interview presentation. While the people seemed knowledgeable, the company culture didn't really vibe with me. They have standard hours of 8-5 but encourage working 8-7, especially for first-year recruiters to build connections, with uncapped bonuses. They also go out for drinks every Thursday. The company felt like a sorority/frat, which wasn't my scene. GQR seems good for entry-level people with a 1-month learning program, but it wasn't aligned with my work values. It's a good opportunity to get into recruiting though. The interview was pretty easy, just be friendly, talk about your experience, and how your skills apply to recruiting. They asked some weird questions like how friends would describe you and about your GPA.
- Can you explain why you are interested in GQR?
- Could you detail your previous experience in recruiting?
- What potential challenges do you foresee in the role of a Recruiter?
