Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GovTech.
Manager
It was a professional hiring process where they evaluated me for a potential role, and also considered if I might be a better fit for another position based on my experience and skills. The interview scheduling was flexible, and they were understanding when I needed to reschedule multiple times due to my commitments. The hiring managers were approachable. In the first interview, they explained the expectations for the ideal candidate beyond my usual background sharing. The second interview was more like a casual chat over tea, discussing the enjoyable and challenging aspects of the job. I received confirmation within a week that I was selected. It's a good idea to be well-prepared by researching the interviewers, the organization, and how to best present yourself.

Manager
Got referred by a friend and had to apply through workday, which was a bit clunky trying to find my university and past employer. After about a month and a follow-up with my friend, I had a Teams interview with a Recruiter and two hiring managers. It was a bit odd as I was the only one with my camera on, and the Teams connection was spotty, causing disruptions.

Manager
It was a straightforward process with two rounds in total. They shared information about career aspirations and experience. They asked about the reason for applying for this job and how I can contribute to GovTech. They also asked about my experiences and aspirations to work with the Public Sector. They provided timely updates. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend being prepared for the interview and reading the company website, and information about the government.
- Why are you interested in this role and how can you make a contribution to GovTech?
- Could you share some of your past experiences?
- What are your aspirations when it comes to working within the Public Sector?
