Applied online and the whole thing takes about 3 weeks. First, there was a screening call with HR/TA to go through a checklist of my competency levels and past experiences. Then I had to take a 1-hour Agile Assessment Quiz. After that, I had to complete a Candidate Self-Assessment Form specifically for a Business Analyst role. Next, I had to prepare for a Case Study which was sent 1 hour before the actual interview. The 1st round interview was to assess for competency. The 2nd round interview involved more scenario-based questions. Finally, the 3rd round interview felt more like a casual chat with the team.

The hiring process was really frustrating. I applied for a Digital Business Analyst position at GovTech and got an offer in early March. Within three days, HR was pressuring me to sign the offer, even threatening to give it to someone else if I didn't sign quickly. I signed within seven days and sent all the required documents to their onboarding team. After that, things just stopped, and there was no follow-up. I even turned down other job offers and was preparing to resign from my current job. About one to two weeks later, I contacted them to confirm my job status, and they said, 'There's been a change.' They didn't tell me proactively; I had to ask. Then, no one would answer my calls or emails. After another week of trying, HR finally answered and gave a brief explanation. He said the project timeline changed, and the government agency no longer needed junior staff, but mentioned there might be a chance with another agency (which seemed like a false promise). He also promised an official email by the next Monday. Of course, no email or call came. I had to reach out again on Tuesday for an update. On Friday, he sent an unprofessional email rescinding my offer. It had been almost a month since I signed. No further explanation or compensation was offered, and the email didn't even apologize for their actions. The HR person seemed untrustworthy, never involving other HR staff and handling important discussions over the phone without documentation. He was always late for meetings (30 minutes) and didn't respond to emails promptly. I put a lot of effort into this, and GovTech's unprofessional and irresponsible behavior was shocking.

I was given a case study with four questions an hour before the interview. During the interview, they asked me about my competencies and the case study. The case study question itself was good, appropriate difficulty, and tested experience and skills. However, I felt the definition of competencies wasn't a good way to measure them. Even if you have experience in a certain competency, if you haven't taken courses for it, you're still given a basic level. When I asked how they judge the competency level, they weren't transparent about it.
