Videographer
It was a really long interview process. There were two rounds of interviews, and they were both pretty easy. I met with different people on the team for each. It was a bit strange because they asked the exact same questions in both interviews, like they didn't put much thought into it. The interviews were spaced out by two weeks. After the last one, I didn't hear anything for two and a half weeks, and then they told me they offered the job to someone else. For such a straightforward interview process, I would have liked a quicker decision. Overall, from the first interview to finding out the final decision, it took about a month.
- Can you describe an instance where you received constructive criticism and how you incorporated it?
Director
The interview process was pretty quick and easy, and some of the people I met were nice and supportive. The campus is also small, pretty, and easy to get to. However, the interview schedule was all over the place (I'm used to meeting everyone together, not separately), and lunch was a formal interview in a public dining area instead of a relaxed meal. Also, my presentation involved answering questions I'd already been asked in earlier meetings. To top it off, I had to video call with the person I'd report to. She was new and starting later, but had apparently posted the job on LinkedIn the day before. She was condescending and rude, criticizing my references and asking why I didn't include a former supervisor who had retired. She dismissed my application because I wasn't part of a professional association she's in. Her tone was insulting, and she ended the call abruptly. My visit was confusing, with unclear answers to my questions, a weird interview schedule, the strange interaction with the future boss, lack of diversity, and financial concerns about the college, all of which were red flags.

Program Manager
They had a really thorough interview process. It started with a call from an HR Associate who went over the pay and benefits to make sure I was still interested. Then, I scheduled my in-person interview, which was a 4-hour, on-campus thing with 3 panel rounds. The first panel was with the staff I'd be working with directly. The next was an open session where people I'd work with could come and sort of interview me. It finished with a meeting with the head of HR to talk more about benefits, pay, and other job details. After that, I had a third follow-up phone interview with my direct report and the head of HR again to confirm stuff.

Development Assistant
I submitted my resume and cover letter online. About two weeks after that, I got a phone call to set up an interview. When I got there, they took me to a conference room where a panel of 4 women interviewed me. They each took turns asking questions. I got to ask them questions too. The interview was about 45 minutes long. A week later, they called to let me know I didn't get the job.
