First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gorilla Glue.
BoM Specialist
The interview process started with a phone screen, then moved to a virtual interview, and finally an in-person interview. The overall experience was unpleasant, and in the end, they hired an internal candidate. They didn't focus much on my actual work experience, making it seem like they were looking for a friend rather than a competent candidate.
- Could you tell me what your favorite season is?
Supply Chain Analyst
Three interviews total. There was an HR screening first, then two more interviews with managers before they made an offer. The second interview was with the team, and the third was an on-site interview where we also walked through the plant. The whole process was pretty nice and went smoothly; they seemed organized.
- What technical skills did you use in your previous supply chain role?
Manufacturing Manager
So I had a panel interview with 3 other managers and they really liked me. After that, I had a final on-site with a senior leader who was really rude and made the interview uncomfortable. He seemed more interested in intimidating me than learning about me as a candidate, it felt accusatory. They said I'd hear back on Friday, but instead, I got a lot of excuses over the next week and then they ghosted me. They didn't take my calls and after 3 weeks, I got a text saying the position was filled. It felt like they were interviewing others as backups and lied to me. It's crazy because they seemed so nice and the company projects a professional image, but this was the most unprofessional interview experience I've ever had. I traveled from out of town twice for these interviews and spent all day each time, and this is how I was treated. They clearly don't value candidates. I hope others avoid this company after reading this. Update: Apparently, it wasn't the recruiter's fault; she did pass my concerns up to a manager. It was too little, too late for me, but hopefully, they learn from this.
- Can you share an instance where an employee resisted supporting a new initiative and describe how you managed that situation?
Assistant Brand Manager
First I had a 15 minute screening call with the recruiter. Then I had 3 interviews, the first two with a Brand Director and the last with the Hiring Manager. There was an extra interview after that, which I think was to decide which team I would join since there were multiple ABM roles open because of an org restructure/expansion. The whole process was pretty straightforward, and they seemed to be using a general question bank. They asked very traditional questions like strengths, weakness, favorite project, etc. Each interview was about 30 minutes long max.
- Could you tell me about your greatest strength?
- What would you consider your biggest weakness?
- Can you describe a project you particularly enjoyed working on?
